Laal Singh Chaddha, Aamir Khan's most recent movie, had a poor box office performance and failed to earn more than $50 million in its first weekend. The Advait Chandan-directed movie, which also starred Kareena Kapoor, was a Hindi adaptation of the 1994 Forrest Gump movie from Hollywood.
Anupam Kher has discussed the failure of “Laal Singh Chaddha” and the “boycott Bollywood” movement in a new interview. If “Laal Singh Chaddha” been a brilliant movie, he said that “no power would have stopped” it from becoming successful. The movie Laal Singh Chadda wasn't very good. If the movie had been excellent, nothing could have stopped it. 'PK' by Aamir Khan was a great success. The key is accepting the reality, the actor told the news agency ANI.
I absolutely oppose boycott movements, he said, but you can't stop someone from following their own desires. However, if your product is good, people will buy it. They really want to return with a fury. And producing brilliant work is the only way to reverse this trend.
Anupam stated that if a movie is excellent, it will work, but if a movie is awful, it won't while discussing the “boycott Bollywood” movement.
Despite being released on the long weekend surrounding Raksha Bandhan and Independence Day, “Laal Singh Chaddha” failed to draw crowds to theatres on August 11, 2022. Later, the movie was made available on Netflix.
In addition to Anurag Basu's “Metro in Dino” and the forthcoming thriller “IB71,” Anupam will next be featured in Kangana Ranaut's “Emergency.”
