Actor Unni Mukundan will be tried by the Kerala High Court in a case of sexual assault

Share

Unni Mukundan, a well-liked young actor, had yet another blow on Tuesday when the Kerala High Court ordered the trial against him in a sexual assault case.
The stay the High Court had previously issued on the trial proceedings against him in the same case was removed in February.
The complainant's attorney alleged that the actor submitted a fake document claiming that a settlement had been made between him and the lady, and the court had voiced its disapproval over this.
The court had first granted the stay prior to being told of the settlement.
The statement purporting to be signed by the lady was presented by Mukundan via lawyer Saiby Jose Kidangoor, who is now under investigation for allegedly accepting large amounts of money from clients to bribe judges.
Later, the complaint claimed that no settlement had been reached at all, and the court made note of this on Tuesday.
The lady filed a complaint accusing Mukundan of sexual harassment in 2017, which resulted in the trial court proceeding against the actor. When the lady traveled to Kochi to see the star for a movie production, the alleged event is reported to have happened there.
