The not-for-profit project will house and display the prototypes of India’s ten young social entrepreneurs in collaboration with Maker’s Asylum, a community platform for inventions. Prototypes would be presented to incubators at MuSO’s acceleration program, SDG School, in an attempt to get financing.

Ten teens have been selected by MuSO and Maker’s Asylum to present their ideas in the areas of digital fabrication, artificial intelligence (AI), and the Internet of Things (IoT). MuSO is run by Tanvi Jindal Shete, the daughter of Sajjan Jindal.

According to Maker’s Asylum creator Vaibhav Chhabra, the main objective is to use the combined strength of many talents and brains to solve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the UN.

In order to potentially finance, test, and deploy these innovations, Maker’s Asylum has partnered with UNESCO, UNDP India, the National Institute of Design’s National Design Business Incubator, and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Accelerator Labs.

Everyone has the potential to be an innovator and a change agent, according to us here at MuSo. The SDG School program helps young people build their own special strengths to address the issues facing the world via professional facilitation and mentorship. The SDG School offers us hope and brings out the best in these kids,” said Michael Peter Edson, chief museum officer at MuSo.

Drone technologies, robots, clean technology, and augmented reality tools to teach kids basic geometry and trigonometry are just a few of the innovations that will be on display.

On March 16, schoolchildren in Mumbai will be able to connect with and be inspired by these young socio-preneurs via the hosting of these prototyped solutions at MuSO.
